Pay: $25/hr. for all locations aside from CA, which will evaluate higher pay rates depending on experience
Location: onsite positions available in Shippensburg, PA, Oklahoma City, OK, Joliet, IL, Chattanooga, TN, Visalia, CA, Cleburne, TX, Atlanta, GA, and Hylia, FL
Description:
The Field Service Technician will provide support for fuel cell products installed in electric lift trucks. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and installing and servicing fuel cells at a designated site. The role involves reporting breakdown events, ordering parts, and maintaining the fuel cells. Strong technical and communication skills are required due to frequent interaction with customer personnel and lift truck operators.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and service fuel cells at customer locations.
- Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to ensure smooth fleet operations.
- Perform specialized service procedures, including retrofits and software/hardware upgrades.
- Offer emergency support to customers when needed.
- Purchase necessary tools, equipment, and parts for service and support.
- Troubleshoot and maintain high-pressure hydrogen storage, delivery, and fueling systems (if applicable).
- Communicate regularly with customer personnel and suppliers regarding fuel cell support.
- Provide feedback on fuel cell performance and maintenance issues.
- Complete administrative tasks such as service logs, incident reports, inventory, and system documentation.
- Adhere to safety procedures on customer sites.
- Travel as necessary, complying with traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, with technical electrical coursework.
- At least three years of experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Formal training or education may substitute for direct experience.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Experience with lift truck operations is preferred.
- General mechanical aptitude required.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Creative problem-solving abilities for technical challenges.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Reliable and punctual.
Tools: Technician must provide their own standard set of tools; specialized fuel cell tools will be provided.
